An RPG in which the battle system is a randomly generated song using a mathematical algorithm and an arpegiator,
The bottom half of the screen will have 5 lines, and notes will travel across the lines and travel from offscreen to circles on the opposite end. Dealing damage to enemies will be done through destroying the notes as they hit the circles, and damage will be done to the character by every missed note, or by hitting the activation button when there aren't any notes in the circle.
Hitting notes in the direct center of the circle will cause the main character to regain some health.
Top half of the screen is a fight between the hero and the enemies, and the fight is affected by how well the character does in the song.

Sounds more like a musical fighting game rather than an RPG. What do the characters look like? Why are they fighting? How are these mechanics different from other rhythm-based videogames? I'm not knocking the idea, just trying to spur more creativity here. Flesh it out a little more.
cool idea, although I think it would be better as a fighting/action rythm game. Basically similar to other rythm games except having your character(s) perform different actions better or worse depending on how well you do with the rythm
