I have a simple request..
In RTS's it would be cool if instead of how (traditionally) when you drag and select a group of troops then click attack say on a building on the other side of the map instead of having them only perform that SINGLE order and run directly at the building in a straight line the moment u click on the building (sort of a run there, attack and pray) you could INSTEAD plan out an entire battle route/sequence by clicking on multiple points along the route then right clicking and giving orders for the troops once they reach that part along the way.
So for example you could click on one spot and say once u are here march around this mountain 5-6 times in a aggressive/kill anything that comes along way, then continue on for another 100 yards and assault this building, then move from there and assault this building...basically this way u wouldnt have to babysit your troops u could get back to doing other things and just let them follow the procedure. The interface design could be a very simplistic right click menu popup as u plot the routes and theres alot of room for ideas to go beyond it. I think it could be very intuitive, easy to operate and would be a really cool feature IMO.

Supreme Commander does all of that pretty well.
Some people may argue it's your job to baby sit your units though as that's where the skill comes in.
